What to Expect at Thankful For Reading Literacy Night
Literacy Games with RLA Teachers
Our RLA (Reading and Language Arts) teachers have prepared engaging literacy games for all grade levels, designed to be fun for everyone. These activities encourage students and families to interact with reading concepts in creative ways, providing hands-on experiences that make learning enjoyable. From word-building games to story creation activities, these games are perfect for sparking excitement for reading.
These games are also a fantastic way for parents to learn strategies for supporting literacy at home. Whether it’s understanding vocabulary, reading comprehension, or storytelling techniques, our teachers will be on hand to guide and offer valuable tips for encouraging reading skills outside the classroom.
Fall Book Fair – A Reader’s Dream
No literacy event is complete without a chance to shop for new books! The fall book fair will be open for browsing throughout the evening, offering a selection of books for all reading levels and interests. From thrilling mysteries to popular series and beloved classics, there will be something to captivate every reader’s imagination. This is the perfect opportunity for students and guardians to pick out books that spark excitement, or even get a head start on holiday gifts.
Not only does the book fair provide students access to exciting new reads, but all purchases will help support our school library, ensuring we can continue to offer diverse and high-quality books for students year-round.
Fun for Parents and Students Alike
Thankful For Reading Parent’s Literacy Night is designed to be a memorable experience for everyone. Parents will leave with practical literacy strategies to use at home, and students will have a chance to practice their reading skills in a positive, welcoming environment. Additionally, this night is a chance for families to bond, explore books together, and build excitement about reading as a community.
